ORGANIC VS. CNGCERTIFIED ORGANIC A certification process for producers of organic foods and other organic agricultural products. Since farmers are certified by the USDA, commercial use of the term organic is legally restricted. Critics view regulatory certification as a potential barrier for small producers by burdening them with increased costs, paperwork, and bureaucracy. The largest concern is that the market is favoring the biggest producers and this could result in the small organic farmer to be squeezed out.CERTIFIED NATURALLY GROWN (CNG) This certification is only available to farmers that supply local markets and adhere to the strictest ideals of sustainable agriculture. Many of the producers that we use have this certification, but because of government policy, we are unable to label their products as organic.
